Green Bean Almondine
Green Bean Almondine is such a simple yet elegant dish. Impress your guests with this side dish filled with fresh green beans and nutrient dense almonds. This recipe is spiced up with the addition of sliced red pepper! Adults and kids alike are sure to enjoy.
Green Bean Almondine
Ingredients:
- 1 LB of fresh green beans (I prefer Haricots they are more tender)
- 1 Large red bell pepper
- 2 TBS butter (not margarine)
- 2 TBS of sliced or slivered almonds
- 1 TSP of lemon juice
- Salt to taste
Preparation:
1. Trim ends off green beans
2. Slice red bell pepper into 3 inch long matchstick strips
3. Steam red bell pepper and green beans until tender
4. In large skillet melt butter over low heat and add almonds stirring occasionally until golden
5. Add red bell pepper, green beans, and lemon juice, combine well and heat through
6. Add salt to taste
